DOWNTOWN GOES BIG AT THE GRAMMYS

Downtown Music Holdings had some big wins during the 63rd Grammy Awards, as 25 artists, writers and clients across Downtown Music Publishing, CD Baby, FUGA and Songtrust, took home 23 Grammys.

With a record number of nominations, Downtown pubco-repped artists such as Cautious Clay, Dez Wright, Fiona Apple, John Prine, Miles Davis, Ryan Tedder, Zach Skelton and more wrote, produced or contributed to 12 winning works across 13 categories.

Categories included Best R&B Album, Best Latin Pop or Urban Album, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Contemporary Blues Album, Best Reggae Album, Best Americana Album, Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Best Opera Recording, Best Rock Performance, Best American Roots Performance, Best American Roots Song, Best Improvised Jazz Solo and Best Music Video.

Winners in other categories included CD Baby’s Jim "Kimo' West for Best New Age Album (More Guitar Stories), Songtrust’s Iman Omari and Micah Davis for Best Dance/Electronic Album (KAYTRANADA’s BUBBA), as well as Edwin Vasquez and Jason Garcia for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album (Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG), among others.

FUGA-distributed Curb Records, Ninja Tunes and Entertainment One also took awards in Best Roots Gospel Album for Fisk Jubilee’s Celebrating Fisk! (The 150th Anniversary Album), Best Progressive R&B Album for Thundercat’s IT IS WHAT IT IS and Best Gospel Performance/Song for Jonathan McReynolds & Mali Music’s “MOVIN' ON”
