Morgan Wallen opens the first Flipover Friday of the new year with a dynamic debut for Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic). Taylor Swift, meanwhile, keeps finding new songs to release.
Wallen’s 30-track set is #1 at iTunes and #2 at Apple Music; a clean version is holding down the #3 spot on the sales side. Swift dropped a deluxe edition of evermore (Republic) on Thursday and its two new tracks are already #1 and #2 at iTunes songs; “right where you left me” tops the chart, trailed by “it’s time to go.”
Barry Gibb’s dozen duets with country acts such as Brandi Carlie, Dolly Parton and Little Big Town—Greenfields: The Gibbs Brothers’ Songbook, Vol. 1 (Capitol)—is getting the message out at #2.
Jazmine Sullivan’s first album in six years, Heaux Tales (RCA), is the only album besides Wallen’s to land on both iTunes and Apple Music: It’s #4 in sales and #9 on the streaming side.
Swift’s deluxe version of evermore is #5, followed by Aaron Watson’s American Soul (BIG Label) at #6, Sammy Hagar & The Circle’s Lockdown 2020 (Mailboat) at #7 and the 17-artist compilation The Years: A Musicfest Tribute to Cody Canada and the Music of Criss Canadian Ragweed (Right Ave/Thirty Tigers) at #8.
