THOMAS RHETT AND BMLG DONATE $100K TO COVID RELIEF FUND
9/3/20

Country star Thomas Rhett and BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta have donated $100k to the MusiCaresCOVID-19 Relief Fund. The announcement arrives via a video conference, where the Valory/BMLG artist and Borchetta surprise Recording Academy Interim President/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura with the donation.

Back in March, CMA and Grammy nominated Rhett teamed up with Reba McEntire, Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin and Keith Urban to release his single “Be a Light,” which is nearing the top of the Country radio charts, and announced all the proceeds from the track would be donated to the ongoing relief fund efforts.

“On behalf of the Big Machine Label Group, we are going to donate $50,000 today to the MusiCares COVID Fund,” shares Borchetta. Matching BMLG’s donation, Rhett adds, “Thank y’all so much for everything y’all are doing. Hopefully we can get a lot more on board this train to continue to give and continue to help out our people.”
