READING AND LEEDS CANCELS

Reading and Leeds Festival is the latest U.K. event to be canceled as a result of the coronavirus crisis. The conjoined fests were due to take place across the end-of-August bank-holiday weekend.

Headliners for this year included Stormzy, Liam Gallagher, and Rage Against the Machine.

A statement from organizer Festival Republic reads: “We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation and we were hopeful we could deliver the ultimate festival to you in August, something to look forward to in these strange and confusing times. However, it has become clear that it’s just not possible for this year’s festival to go ahead.” Ticket holders will be able to apply for a refund, or hold on to their ticket for next year’s edition. The statement continues: “We promise you that Reading and Leeds Festival 2021 will be worth the wait.”

The festivals join a host of other big music events cancelled for 2020 in the U.K., including Glastonbury, Latitude, All Points East and Download.
