NIPPER CON-TROLLS TOP OF iTUNES CHART

RCA has two albums at the top of the iTunes chartthrough the weekend: rock revivalists The Strokes' aptly titled The New Abnormal (which is also Top 10 on Apple Music's album countdown) and the hotly anticipated, star-studded Trolls: World Tour ST.

At Apple Music, Trolls is the #1 soundtrack and The Strokes top the alternative albums chart.

Tours, world and otherwise, may be on hold just now, but the film (rentable, at a cool $19.99, via iTunes Movies, Amazon, et al) is captivating confined families bigtime. Naturally, so is the soundtrack.

The latter set once again features bouncy participation from Justin Timberlake (alongside SZA for lead cut "The Other Side" but appearing throughout). Other stars include Kelly Clarkson, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, Anderson.Paak, Mary J. Blige, Dierks Bentley, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, HAIM and Rachel Bloom, among others.

Interestingly, a battle between rock and funk is at the center of the story, and the album mingles classic covers (of songs by Heart, Ozzy Osbourne, Clinton, Daft Punk, Patsy Cline, The Scorpions and more) with new material. We look forward to hearing stories of children screaming "BARRACUDA" while their folks are trying to work/sleep/have grown-up time.

Meanwhle, Clarkson has posted a charming video clip of Trolls tune "Just Sing," compiling glimpses of her TV show team at home. Check it out below.
