We’re incredibly sad to report the tragic death of artist Juice WRLD on Sunday, mere days after his 21st birthday.
According to reports, the Grade A/Interscope rapper, born Jarad Anthony Higgins, went into cardiac arrest at Chicago’s Midway Airport and died at a nearby hospital.
Tributes to his artistry are now pouring in on the socials. We can only imagine what his loved ones and music-industry family are going through right now—our deepest condolences go out to them as we remember one of the brightest arrivals of the last several years.
Interscope Geffen A&M issued the following statement:
Juice made a profound impact on the world in such a short period of time. He was a gentle soul, whose creativity knew no bounds, an exceptional human being and artist who loved and cared for his fans above everything else. To lose someone so kind and so close to our hearts is devastating. Our thoughts are with Juice’s family and friends, everyone at his label Grade A, and his millions of fans around the world.
A further expression of grief and condolence came from BMG's Thomas Scherer:
Juice WRLD is one of the most ambitious, dynamic, and prolific artists of his time, with a unique style all his own. Above all, as a person, he was kind, thoughtful, and generous. He had a vibrant soul, an authenticity full of energy, love, curiosity and music. We admire him as the person he was, as much as the person he was becoming. What he accomplished and achieved in such a short time, and at such a young age, is nothing short of extraordinary. We are absolutely devastated and mourn the loss of a young bright star gone far too soon.
Our utmost heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, fans, Grade A and everyone he touched and inspired around the world. Juice WRLD forever.
Fans have begun expressing their devotion to Juice at Apple Music, where "Lucid Dreams" is #1 and one of five of the late artist's tracks in the Top 6, Spotify ("Dreams" at #1 and four of Top 5) and iTunes, where "Lucid Dreams" is Top 3.
