U.K. CHARTS: COLDPLAY CLAIMS EIGHTH #1

Coldplay’s Everyday Life (Parlophone) has hit #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart on 81k combined chart sales. Over on singles, Tones & I remains on top while Stormzy claims the highest new entry at #3.

With their eighth #1, Coldplay has the third fastest-selling album of the year behind Ed Sheeran (125k) and Lewis Capaldi (90k).

Robbie Williams’ The Christmas Present (Columbia) settles for second place on 67k combined chart sales. While he didn’t reach the Official Albums peak, Williams does claim an interesting victory with the fastest-selling cassette release in almost two decades, shifting nearly 10k copies in the past seven days.

Rod Stewart is also new at #3 with his album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, You’re In My Heart (Rhino), while Andre Rieu & The Johann Strauss Orchestra’s Happy Days (Universal) opens at #6.

Leonard Cohen’s first posthumous album, Thanks For The Dance (Columbia), enters at #7 and the new Bing Crosby with the London Symphony Orchestra record, Bing At Christmas (Decca), enters at #9.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “Dance Monkey” (Parlophone) by Tones & I is now the longest running #1 of 2019. The track notched up 9.58m streams this week and was the biggest selling download.

Capaldi’s new single, “Before You Go” (Virgin EMI), rises 17 places to #2, and Stormzy and Ed Sheeran have the highest new entry with “Own It” f/Burna Boy (Atlantic/#Merky) at #3.

Arizona Zervas has a personal best as “Roxanne” (Sony Music) rises to a new peak at #7, while KSIRick Ross, Lil Baby, and S-X leap 22 places to #10 with their collab “Down Like That” (BMG).
