WEITZMAN CATCHES A WAVE

Primary Wave Music Publishing has announced the addition of David Weitzman as Partner. Weitzman, who will focus on acquisition of iconic and legendary songwriters for Primary Wave Music IP Fund 2, will be based out of the company’s Los Angeles office and will work closely with Founder & CEO Larry Mestel, as well as President Justin Shukat.

Weitzman, when asked about joining the publishing giant, said “I am thrilled to announce this new chapter in my professional career joining Larry, Justin and the fantastic Primary Wave team as partner, sourcing acquisitions to enhance the company’s aggressive growth strategy.”

“I have known David for quite some time. He had been a formidable opponent when at his former company,” said Mestel. “We couldn’t be happier to provide David a platform where his vast experience and talents can flourish.”

Weitzman, or "Whitey" as he is known to his friends, joins Primary Wave from Anthem Entertainment Group (formerly Ole), where he was VP of Biz Dev. Before that he held positions at American Recordings, Epitaph Records, Sublime’s Skunk Records, Red Ant Records, Emusic and MTV. He has worked with artists Sublime, Rancid, The Black Crowes, Sir Mix a Lot, Ozzy Osbourne, and Love & Rockets, and has spearheaded deals with songwriters/producers and companies such as Timbaland, Jeff Trott, RedOne's 2101 Songs, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Jingle Punks and many more.

Already too busy to get back to us, David can be attempted to be reached at his new primary email address here.
