U.K. MIDWEEKS: DUA DEBUTS AT #2

Dua Lipa is challenging Tones & I for the #1 spot on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart with “Don’t Start Now” (Warner Records), the first single from her second album. Over on albums, a BBC Children in Need charity release is leading the midweeks.

“Don’t Start Now” is the first new music from Lipa since she released “Swan Song” for Alita: Battle Angel in January. The track, which Lipa performed live at the MTV EMA Awards on Sunday, sits at #2 the singles chart today, and is #2 on iTunes and #3 on Spotify’s U.K. Top 50. Tones and I is still leading the singles chart with “Dance Monkey” (Parlophone).

At the halfway stage, Lizzo’s “Good as Hell” (Atlantic) is up three places to #4. The highest climber of the week looks set to be Jax Jones and Ella Henderson’s “This Is Real” (Polydor) up 14 places to #16.

South London rappers Krept & Konan f/D-Block and Hussle’s “Tell Me” (Virgin EMI) is new at #17 following the release of their new album, Revenge is Sweet, which sits at #8 on the U.K.’s Official Albums midweeks today.

Elsewhere on albums, Children in Need: Got It Covered (Silva Screen) —a collection of covers by an all-star cast of actors—is heading for #1 with a lead of nearly 4k combined sales.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO’s From Out of Nowhere (RCA) is new at #2, ahead of the third album from Michael Kiwanuka, Kiwanuka (Polydor), at #3. Bob Dylan is also new at #4 with Travelin’ Thru: The Bootleg Series 15 (Sony Music CG).
