A$AP Rocky was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in Sweden but will not have to serve any jail time. He will have to pay a fine and his accuser's legal fees.
Rocky and his fellow defendants have to pay about $1,300 in restitution to the victim, Mustafa Jafari, and close to $21,000 for Jafari’s legal fees.
An incident in June led to the assault charge, with the prosecution seeking a six-month prison sentence. Rocky (aka Rakim Mayers) entered a not guilty plea, arguing his participation in a putative brawl arose out of self-defense.
Earlier this month, the hip-hop star and his two co-defendants were allowed to leave Sweden. The Trump administration had demanded his release, with the President claiming that Sweden "has let our African American community" down. We're just gonna leave that there.
