Four new entries look set to land in the U.K.’s Official Albums Top 5 this week, with Jonas Brothers leading the way at #2, followed by The Divine Comedy, MoStack and a posthumous album from Avicii. Over on singles, Lil Nas X has reclaimed the top spot.
Lewis Capaldi is on course to claim a fourth week at the top with Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (Virgin EMI) leading the pack by 1.3k combined sales. Should he hold onto his lead, Capaldi will be the first artist to spend four weeks at the top this year.
Jonas Brothers are the closest competition with Happiness Begins (Polydor) starting at #2. Northern Irish group The Divine Comedy are on course for a new peak at #3 with their self-released 12th studio album, Office Politics.
The debut from London MC MoStack, Stacko (Virgin EMI), is heading for #4, while Avicii’s Tim (Positiva), starts at #5.
Pink Floyd’s former chart-topper, The Division Bell (Parlophone), is back in the Top 10 for the first time since ’95 at #7 following a 25th anniversary vinyl pressing.
Bob Dylan is also set for a Top 10 return with a reissue of his 2002 rarities album, The Bootleg Series Vol. 5 (Columbia) at #8, while Jamie Cullum may also net his first Top 10 album in 14 years with Taller (Island) at #9.
On the Official Singles midweeks, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” (Columbia) has returned to #1 by a margin of 287 combined sales; it has spent six weeks at #2. The track was the most streamed song over the weekend, pushing Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” (Atlantic) down to #2
Liam Gallagher is on course for this week’s highest new entry with the lead single from his upcoming second solo album, “Shockwave” (Warner Records), currently sitting at #9.
After releasing his debut album, MoStack has three songs on this week’s singles chart update: “Shine Girl” with Stormzy is up three to #11; “Stinking Rich” f/Dave & J Hus enters at #14; and the Fredo-assisted “I’m The One” is #22.
