U.K. MIDWEEKS: ARIANA'S STILL ON TOP

Ariana Grande is battling herself for the U.K. Official Singles #1 on Friday, while “Giant” (Columbia) by Rag’n’Bone Man and Calvin Harris sits just 2.7k combined sales behind at #3. Over on albums, Avril Lavigne has the highest new entry at #5.

Ariana's “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” (Island) holds a narrow lead of just 275 combined sales ahead of “7 Rings” on the midweek update today.

“Giant” has risen one place to a new peak of #3 following a performance on The Graham Norton Show. Will the track rise further following a BRITs performance on Wednesday?

NSG f/Tion Wayne’s “Options” (Sony) is up three to #9, while Cardi B & Bruno Mars are set to claim this week’s highest new entry with “Please Me” (Atlantic) currently at #11.

Fans are paying tribute to British rapper Cadet — who died two weeks ago in a car cash — pushing his “Advice” f/Deno Driz (ADA) up 20 slots to a potential new peak of #16.

On the Official Albums midweeks, Grande is on course for a second week at #1 with thank u, next currently outselling The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) 2:1.

Lavigne’s sixth album, Head Above Water (BMG), starts at #5, just 80 combined sales behind The Specials Encore (UMC) at #4.

Chaka Khan could be collecting her first ever U.K. Top 10 album this Friday with Hello Happiness (Island) at #8, while South London collective D-Block Europe could also land their first Top 10 with their self-released mixtape, Home Alone, at #10.
