THE RISE OF ZIGGY

Island chieftain Darcus Beese just announced the promotion of N.Y.-based Ziggy Chareton, who takes the reins as the label's SVP, Head of A&R.

“The lifeblood of a record company is its artist roster and the team of A&R executives who help develop their careers and the flow of new music,” says Beese, to whom he will directly report. “It is crystal clear that Ziggy embraces the best qualities of A&R, a 24/7 dedication to artist development and music foremost among them."

The young exec, who's played a pivotal role in the development of core Island artist Shawn Mendes, had served as VP, A&R since 2017, but he started in the biz working for now-COO Eric Wong. We're not sure if Ziggy plays guitar, but we hear he can really rock a vertical stripe onesie.
