THIS CHART STORY IS BOOMIN

Boominati/Republic stream warrior Metro Boomin has bowed at #1 on the HITS Top 50 Chart, moving 99k with debut solo studio album NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES. To clarify, his two prior full-lengths—October 2017’s Without Warning and December’s Double or Nothing—were collaborative efforts with Offset and 21 Savage, and then Big Sean.

Meanwhile, Migos member Takeoff’s The Last Rocket (QC/Motown/Capitol) and Kris Wu’s Antares (Ace Unit Culture Media/Interscope) debut at #4 and #5 with approximately 50k and 47k, respectively.

Other noteworthy debuts include Barbra Streisand’s Walls (Columbia), which enters at #11 with 35k, and Miranda Lambert-led trio Pistol AnniesInterstate Gospel (RCA Nashville), which comes in at #13 with 31k. Also, at #16, Moneybagg Yo’s Reset (N-Less/Interscope) appears with nearly 30k.

This week’s big story, however, surrounds none other than fearless Freddie Mercury and the late icon’s band, Queen. A week after the release of movie Bohemian Rhapsody, the Hollywood soundtrack surges more than 200% to land at #3, moving 60k. In fact, Hollywood has a lot to celebrate, as the Queen Platinum Collection re-enters the chart at #12 with 33k and their Greatest Hits set re-enters at #36 with 16k. Ken Bunt has been Galileo, Galileo-ing for days now.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG leads with 67%, SME follows with 16% and WMG is #3 with 14%, while the indies claim 3%.

Streeting this week are projects by KidinaKorner/Interscope’s Imagine Dragons, RCA Nashville/Zone 4’s Kane Brown, Columbia’s Lil Peep, Warner Bros.Muse, Visionary/Capitol’s Jon Bellion, TenThousand’s Trippie Redd and Alamo/Interscope’s Lil Durk.
