Following news of the original music video for Maroon 5 f/Cardi B's "Girls Like You" (222/Interscope) surpassing 1b views, the CAM-repped band has unveiled a "Version 2." This second installment, also directed by David Dobkin, provides a more tongue-in-cheek take while featuring the same guest stars.
The first video debuted the day the Red Pill Blues U.S. Tour began, and the new one arrives as that leg concludes. The song, which recently went #1 at Top 40 radio, has been #1 at Hot AC for 11 weeks. It also topped the Radio Songs chart for a twelfth consecutive week, marking the longest-running #1 by any act since Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and making it the longest-running by any duo or group this century.
"Everything feels right about the song, the video and the band," manager Adam Harrison told HITS. "After all we’ve been through in 2018 with the state of the world and losing our fearless leader, it’s nice to be celebrated with a victory for the good guys. This is our fifth single from our sixth album and we only look forward for what’s to come with the mighty Maroon 5."
