RIAA PUSHES EAGLES GREATEST TO #1

Sales powerhouse The Eagles, who continue to rule the rock roost on streaming services, have had Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 certified 38x platinum, making it the #1 album of all time.

It has been a dozen years since the RIAA tallied numbers for The Eagles, pushing up the 1976 hits package a good 8m units. Michael Jackson's Thriller, at 33x platinum, drops to second place.

Hotel California, the title track of which is a Top 10 streamer among rock tracks, is now 26x platinum and in third place.

After wiping a tear of nostalgia, we celebrated by cranking up “Desperado” on the office 8–track player.
