5 Seconds of Summer have hit #3 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with third album Youngblood (Capitol), while The Carters end the week at #5 with Everything is Love (RCA/Roc Nation). Over on singles, Clean Bandit have their fourth #1 with “Solo” f/Demi Lovato (Atlantic).
The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Atlantic) still shows no signs of slowing down as it spends a 20th week at the top of the albums chart. It's just shy of reaching 1m combined sales in Blighty, having notched up 911k to date. The long reign nearly matches that of classic albums by The Beatles, Elvis and Adele, and is on par with Ed Sheeran’s Divide.
5 Seconds of Summer are behind George Ezra who is at #2 with Staying at Tamara’s (Columbia), while former Smiths’ guitarist Johnny Marr charts at #7 with Call the Comet (New Voodoo).
Outside the Top 10, Nas is new at #16 with Nasir (Virgin EMI), followed by Christina Aguilera’s Liberation (RCA) at #17.
On the Official Singles chart, Clean Bandit are the first act to enjoy seven Top 5 singles in more than a decade. Ezra is also #2 on singles with “Shotgun,” while Anne-Marie stays at #3 with “2002” (Atlantic). Jess Glynne completes the Top 5 Atlantic trio with “I’ll Be There” at #4. This week’s highest new entry is Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande with “Bed” (YMCMB) at #20.
XXXTentacion fans are remembering the late rapper in the U.K., with “Sad” (Bad Vibes), “Moonlight,” and “Changes” at #31, #32 and #33 respectively, while ? rises 74 places to #9 on albums.
