THOUGHTS ON
THE "MEXIT"

With the Island “Mexit” in effect—and David Massey on his way to his new adventure at Sony—all eyes are on Island’s new U.S. boss, Darcus Beese. The former Island U.K. boss is now in complete control at the NYC label and it’s anticipated that he will shape the company with his own A&R vision (which was demonstrated in the U.K. with such signings as Amy Winehouse, Mumford & Sons, Florence + The Machine, Hozier, Disclosure, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Taio Cruz and Dizzee Rascal).

Who will join Beese’s team? How will shifts in the marketplace over the last few years influence his inkings? Will he be able to find a decent cup of tea in Manhattan? Stay tuned for more on these and other pressing questions.
