Shahendra Ohneswere is joining Columbia Records in the newly created job of Senior Vice President, Content Development, to create multi-platform content strategies across Columbia’s artist, label and creative brand partnerships.
Ohneswere’s new boss, Columbia EVP/GM Joel Klaiman, made the announcement.
A former Senior Editor at Giant Magazine, he was most recently with Roc Nation where he has been Vice President, Creative Marketing, since 2014. He joined in 2010 to launch and curate Jay-Z’s Life + Times and was a producer of the Made in America music and culture festival, among other projects.
“Shahendra’s innovative track record of creating original assets makes him a great addition to the Columbia team,” Klaiman said. “He’ll help develop cutting-edge content to enhance fan engagement and our artists’ exposure. Plus we have new words to add to our annual spelling bee.”
