CHART STORY: PANTHER'S BACK ON TOP, DAWG

The Black Panther album—via Top Dawg Ent/Aftermath/Interscope—returns to #1 on the Top 50 Chart in its fourth week out, moving 78k. For those keeping score, three of the four weeks have been spent in the premier spot and, since the set’s 2/9 release, total activity has reached 450k+.

Another Interscope project, Tory Lanez’s Memories Don’t Die (Mad Love), scores the biggest bow, coming in at #4 with 51k. The only other new release to make the Top 25 belongs to Strange Music’s Tech N9ne, whose Planet debuts at #14.

The 90th Academy Awards moved the needle a bit for Atlantic’s Greatest Showman soundtrack, which hops #5-2, and Disney’s Coco OST, which re-enters the chart at #31.

As for other noteworthy surges, Camila Cabello’s Camila (SYCO/Epic), rises #12-9 as current single “Never Be the Same” approaches the Pop radio Top 10. XXXTentacion’s 17 (Bad Vibes Forever), meanwhile, jumps #39-24. His recently released standalone single, “SAD!,” just debuted on our Streaming Songs Chart, entering at #4.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 54%, WMG follows with 25% and SME is #3 with 19%, while the indies claim 3%.

Streeting this week is Logic’s Bobby Tarantino II mixtape (Def Jam), as well as albums from QC/Motown/Capitol’s Lil Yachty, RCA’s Three Days Grace, Columbia’s Judas Priest and Columbia’s The Neighbourhood. There’s also Both Sides of the Sky, a collection of late-period Jimi Hendrix tracks, out via Experience Hendrix/Legacy.
