A MUSICAL DOORBUSTER (UPDATE)

K-Pop phenoms BTS hit #1 at iTunes over the holiday weekend with new single "Mic Drop [Steve Aoki Remix]" f/Desiigner (Bighit/RED), once again flexing their power at eliciting screams in the marketplace. The track has since dipped to #6 as "Havana" by SYCO/Epic breakout Camila Cabello rose to the top.

On the album side, the throughline is the holidays. RCA's yuletide champions Pentatonix are now at #2, just behind Taylor Swift's reputation, with A Pentatonix Christmas Deluxe; Interscope's Gwen Stefani takes #6 with You Make It Feel Like Christmas; indie fiddler Lindsey Stirling is #8 with Warmer in the Winter (Lindseystomp); Michael Buble's Christmas (Reprise) is #11; the NOW Christmas collection is #12; RCA's Trolls holiday set sits at #13 after a well-rated TV special; and Sia's Everyday Is Christmas (Atlantic) is #18.

In non-mistletoe news, blackbear's Monday morning release cybersex (Beartrap/Alamo/Interscope) is #4, following Def Jam's new Fabolous & Jakakiss set, Friday on Elm Street, which is #3. The collaboration also boasts contributions from Swizz Beatz, Future and French Montana, among others; it's the biggest new release streaming at Apple Music as well. Disney's new Dia de los Muertos-themed Coco soundtrack moves up to #9 after the animated flick's big box-office bow. Black River Entertainment's Kelsea Ballerini is just outside the Top 20.

Will PTX rule the yule again this year? Pour yourself some eggnog and don't touch that dial.
