Taylor Swift’s reputation (Virgin EMI) has hit #1 in the U.K. on 84k combined sales. It’s her third Official Albums chart-topper, falling just short of the 90k 1989 did in 2014.
It’s the sixth biggest opening week for an album this year, behind WMG’s Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher, UMG’s Take That and Sam Smith, and Sony act Rag’n’Bone Man. Sales of Reputation were 50/50 digital downloads and physical sales. How much more will it shift when arriving on streaming services?
The second highest new albums entry in Blighty this week is Elton John with best of Diamonds (Virgin EMI) at #5, while rock band Shed Seven end at #8 with their fifth studio set, Instant Pleasures (Infectious Music).
Syco’s Camila Cabello has scored a third week at #1 on the Official Singles Chart thanks in part to a new remix. The remix of “Havana” f/Daddy Yankee and Young Thug has secured the track a third week at the top of the Official Singles Chart. It finishes 8k combined sales of closest competitor, Rita Ora with “Anywhere” (Atlantic)—her third Top 10 this year. This week’s highest new entry is Eminem with “Walk On Water” f/Beyonce (Polydor) at #7.
