RCA’s P!nk has dropped “What About Us,” the first single from her seventh album, Beautiful Trauma, which will be released 10/13.

P!nk, Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and Steve Mac wrote the track, which is now #1 at iTunes in 23 markets (and Top 10 in 48) and#1 at Amazon's digital songs. chart. Mac produced it. P!nk co-wrote all 13 tracks on the album, working with Max Martin, Shellback, Jack Antonoff, Julia Michaels, Greg Kurstin, busbee and others.

The radio emphasis is naturally Pop and Hot AC, with iHeart playing the track every hour on the hour on release day. The song dropped at 5am ET, which happens to be Friday midnight in Australia. It's the #2 Greatest Gainer at both formats.

The lyric video below rapidly became a trending topic on YouTube. #WHATABOUTUS quickly became a trending topic on Twitter worldwide, as users of social media paused to think about themselves.

It's all contributed to a cheerful week for Team Nipper; Edge, Corson, Riccitelli and company are also celebrating a strong start for the returning Kesha.

Coincidentally, “what about us” is a common refrain among HITS editors.
