CAMPBELL STILL ON THE LINE AT iTUNES, AMAZON (UPDATE)

The passing of the great Glen Campbell has naturally stirred longtime fans and curious newcomers alike to constellate around his music.

His 20 Greatest Hits (Capitol) remains at #5 at iTunes Thursday. Another Greatest Hits est is #14, while swan song Adiós is #21.

At Amazon, meanwhile, he has the top three CDs with Adiós, Greatest Hits and Gentle on My Mind: The Best of.

Incandescent singles "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman" and "Gentle on My Mind" are all in the iTunes Top 50 songs.

"We hope to honor his memory by making his classic recordings available globally and introducing his final album to both existing and new fans."—Bruce Resnikoff, UMe

When news of Campbell's passing hit the wires on Tuesday afternoon, the response was immediate; in the ensuing hours, catalog sales absolutely exploded, with multiple titles moving up the charts.

The Campbell catalog is overseen by Bruce Resnikoff's UMe. Noted Resnikoff, "The passing of Glen Campbell has created an incredible demand at digital and physical partners for several of his records, including his last record, Adiós, which was recently released. Going forward, we hope to honor his memory by making his classic recordings available globally and introducing his final album to both existing and new fans."

The acclaimed CNN Films documentary on Campbell, I'll Be Me, re-aired Wednesday night on HLN. The Julian Raymond-produced soundtrack for the film (on BMLG) won a Grammy and earned an Oscar nom.
