CHART STORY: KHALED STILL KING

DJ Khaled’s Grateful (We the Best/Epic) remains #1 on the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart this week with approximately 68k. Columbia’s Calvin Harris follows at #2, as Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1—another star-studded set—scores the highest debut with 63k.

Showcasing impressive stamina, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. (TDE/Interscope) continues to rack up huge streams, holding at #3 with 56k, while the also-dependable Ed Sheeran breaks back into the Top 5 with 36k for Atlantic set Divide.

As for the other noteworthy debuts, Stone Sour’s Hydrograd (Roadrunner) bows at #6 with 33k, while Columbia’s soundtrack to Baby Driver, which is being widely praised for its use of music, makes its entrance at #25. On a related note, we at HITS remain stoned and sour.

Shawn MendesIlluminate (Island) makes one of this week’s more noteworthy moves, jumping #29-20. Single “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” was put on sale for 69-cents on iTunes, where it’s currently sitting at #4. The hit is also about to climb into the Top 10 at Pop radio.

When it comes to the SPS marketshare battle, UMG is #1 with 49% and SME is #2 with 31%, while WMG follows with 19%.

Streeting this week are new albums from Columbia’s HAIM and Slaughter Gang/Epic’s 21 Savage, as well as the wide-release of Jay-Z’s 4:44 (Roc Nation), which actually dropped last week, but as a Tidal exclusive.
