ASK THE ROCK 'N' ROLL DOCTOR'S ADVICE

On the occasion of Berklee College of Music's 2017 commencement, honorary doctor of music degrees went to several eminent musicians as well as Recording Academy chief Neil Portnow, whose lecture on "The Semiotics of Representation in Grammy Product-Placement Bumpers" is said to be highly transgressive. Seen just before throwing a TV out the window of the faculty lounge are (l-r) Todd Rundgren, Berklee SVP for academic affairs and provost Lawrence J. Simpson, Lionel Richie, Neil Portnow, Shin Joong Hyun, Lucinda Williams, and Berklee President Roger H. Brown.
