Try to contain your girlish screams. Although, we know that's easier said than done, as Island heartthrob Shawn Mendes dropped a new single last night. "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" is now #1 at iTunes.
Mendes' "Mercy" recently went Top 10 at Pop radio; it's currently #2 at Hot AC. Platinum predecessor "Treat You Better" hit #2 at Pop and #1 at AC and Hot AC this fall/winter. Earlier in 2016, "Stitches" (now four-times platinum) went #1 at all three aforementioned formats.
It's also worth noting that the young star's YouTube page boasts a total of 2.6b+ views. And with nearly 17m monthly Spotify listeners, he's the 47th most-listened to artist in the world. Not bad for an 18-year-old. Back when we were 18, our days consisted of smoking enough weed to make the drying of paint seem interesting. Given that today is 4/20, we intend on reverting to our teenage selves.
