TAG THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

The debut this weekend of the first Apple AirPods ads have driven Marian Hill’s “Down” way up the Shazam USA Top 100 as the Republic Records duo hits #12. That’s a rise of 189 slots, a mere four more than the Disruptor/Columbia’s The Chainsmokers saw for their new single “Paris.”

It’s not just thumbs that “Down” is attracting: Over the three-day weekend, new-found fans were using their whole hands to reach into their wallets to buy the track, which saw a 22,000% spike in iTunes sales. More on that topic here.

Sean Rowe’s 2013 track “Something to Leave Behind” is getting tagged after being included in the Ben Affleck film The Accountant, which was released on iTunes and on DVD at the end of December. Anti- released the track; Rowe has been using Kickstarter to finance his next record. Def Jam's Bibi Bourelly tags in with "Ballin."

Other gainers include RCA's Usher, G.O.O.D./Def Jam's Big Sean, Dreamville/RocNation/Interscope's J. Cole and indie rapper Kyle. Check the whole kit and kaboodle here.

In the U.K. The Chainsmokers sit at the top of the Greatest Gainers list where they were up 165 slots to #36. They edged out Cat Stevens’ “Tea for the Tillerman,” his 1971 minute-long track being used nearly in full in an Amazon Prime ad. It was up 163 slots to #38.
