“My Way” from Columbia’s Calvin Harris has caught the ears and thumbs of many a Shazam user as the DJ/singer’s latest explodes as the biggest gainer on the Shazam USA Top 100 chart. The single, ostensibly a riposte to Taylor Swift after she and Harris broke up and released less than a week ago, is at #23, a rise of 174 slots.
“Forever Country,” a medley of hits by Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and others from American Artists Of Then, Now & Forever that appears on the album CMA Awards 50, rose 149 slots to #52. The rise on the charts of Sia f/Kendrick Lamar’s “The Greatest” (RCA) aligns with her appearance on the Shazam Biggest Movers chart, putting it at #49, up from #134. Ellie Goulding’s song from the soundtrack of Bridget Jones’ Baby rounds out the Top 5. Among those also seeing nice boosts: Mr. 305/RCAs Pitbull (who spikes 63 places), Capitol's Jon Bellion (up 54), Republic's Ariana Grande (+33) and Cletus the Van/Caroline's Judah & The Lion (+26).
In the U.K., the comeback of X Factor winner James Arthur makes noise on Blighty’s Shazam chart: Having re-signed to SYCO, his return single “Say You Won’t Let Go” rises 196 slots to #5, followed by Harris, who’s being tagged overseas at a rate equal to the U.S.
