U.K. CHARTS: THE HEAT IS ON

In tune with the heatwave/actual summer happening in Blighty at the moment, there are two older sunny tracks making big gains on the Official Singles Chart.

Thanks to that magic formula of radio, streaming and sync support, “Sunshine,” released by Lohan Presencer’s Ministry of Sound back when it wasn’t a Sony imprint last year, has moved 11 places from #23 to #12 on the Official Singles Chart. It's by London producer Tieks f/Dan Harkna and features on a Fiat 500 TV advertising campaign. "Sunshine" is playlisted at BBC Radio 1 (A List) and Capital FM, and sits at #7 on iTunes and #35 on Spotify’s U.K. Top 50.

Elsewhere, a remix of Bob Marley's "Is This Love" by Lvndscape and Boiler gave Marley his first Top 40 hit in 16 years last week, and has climbed 19 places this week to #20. Released by Darcus BeeseUMG U.K. imprint Island, it’s also playlisted at BBC Radio 1 (A List) and Capital FM, sits at #6 on iTunes and #31 on Spotify’s U.K. Top 50.
