MARTIN GARRIX AND BEBE REXHA GREENLIGHT SONY DEAL

A Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha track is set to drop on 7/29 via Sony as the Dutch DJ leaves behind his indie deal with Spinnin’ Records to sign to RCA in the U.S. and Columbia in the U.K.

“In the Name of Love” will be Garrix’s major-label debut with rising Warner star Rexha.

Garrix first rose to international fame with his 2013 single “Animals,” which has sold over 10m worldwide. Since then, he has collaborated with Ed Sheeran, Usher, Avicii and Tiesto and headlined Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland. He also owns his own record label STMPD Records, and has a weekly show on Apple’s Beats 1 under the same name.

The Sony deal was negotiated by Sony Music Netherlands, RCA U.S., Columbia U.K. and Sony Music International’s London bureau.

It was led by Adam Granite for SMI and Scooter Braun and Michael George for SB Projects, as well as Watse De Jong of Watse Matter, Garrix’s management teams.

Said Granite, whose full title reads President, Northern & Eastern Europe & Africa, Sony International, “Martin is one of the pre-eminent DJ, producers and songwriters in the world today and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him and his team to the Sony Music family.”

Garrix added, “I’m super-excited to be working with such a hungry and passionate team at Sony Music Entertainment. Their forward thinking approach to streaming and incredible roster of talented artists combined with their passion and understanding for my vision of the future of my music made this a no-brainer.”
