To celebrate the momentous announcement from Dr. Dre on The Pharmacy this past Saturday, Apple Music’s Beats 1 gathered up a group of L.A. tastemakers for an exclusive “Countdown to Compton” private party, held at a sprawling private mansion in Beverly Hills.
Seen watching a special video stream of The Pharmacy Beats 1 broadcast and the subsequent earth-shattering announcement about long-awaited new music from the Dr. were actor Ryan Phillipe, Marlon Wayans, Real 92.3's Big Boy, Warren G, Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow and Vince Staples, to name a few, with Zane Lowe spotted mingling in the crowd and Pharmacy cast member DJ Pooh coming through after the broadcast wrapped.
Compton: A Soundtrack, set to hit iTunes and Apple Music on Aug. 7, is the first album from Dr. Dre since his classic 1999 project 2001.
Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Marsha Ambrosius, Jill Scott, Xzibit, BJ the Chicago Kid and more are featured on the album.
