"When I first wrote ‘All AboutThat Bass,’ I had no idea that it would completely change my life, but I’m glad that the song’s message of self-empowerment has caught on. I’m excited to accept this Award."

ALL ABOUT THAT BIZ

Meghan Trainor to Be Honored at Music Biz Association Luncheon on

Epic's Meghan Trainor will be honored with the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at the Music Biz Association's (don't call it NARM!) 2015 Awards Luncheon on 5/14 in Nashville's Sheraton Downtown.

The location is fitting, given that Trainor moved to Nashville as a teen after scoring a pub deal and wrote for several big country acts before recording her breakout hit "All About That Bass."

Music Biz honcho James Donio said the organization was "thrilled to recognize her incredible talent in the city where her songwriting kicked into high gear.”

"I’d like to thank the Music Business Association for this great honor," said the Grammy-nominated Trainor. "When I first wrote ‘All AboutThat Bass,’ I had no idea that it would completely change my life, but I’m glad that the song’s message of self-empowerment has caught on. I’m excited to accept this Award."

Prior recipients of the award include Ariana Grande, Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Nicki Minaj, The Killers, Emeli Sande and Ne-Yo.
