Tabor and Phillips Announce Suite of New Hires

Global Entertainment, the 360 music company that is the content-creation arm of Ashley Tabor's U.K. giant Global, The Media and Entertainment Group, has announced an array of key executive appointments.

These exec appointments follow Randy Phillips' being named CEO of the L.A.-based Global Entertainment. Now Phillips' primary team is in place, with more executive announcements expected soon.

Monti Olson comes aboard as EVP and Managing Director of Worldwide Music Publishing. The former UMPG EVP/Head of A&R will oversee and agument the pub wing's roster, which already includes Ellie Goulding, Corinne Bailey Rae, LMFAO, The Script and The Vamps. Olson will run point in London and build an L.A. team.

Paul Adam joins as SVP A&R. The industry vet served at Mercury, Island and Polydor, and has worked with Bjork, The Gaslight Anthem, Suede, McFly and other acts.

      

Bob Semanovich takes on SVP Marketing duties, based in L.A. Most recently at Capitol, where he rode herd on marketing for Katy Perry, Beck, Coldplay and Rod Stewart, among many others, he previously spent a decade at Columbia.

Ben Karter is in as GM, Recorded Music, U.K., reporting to Semanovich. Karter, who has worked in management and also served as Head of Marketing at Mercury and a tenure at Sony, has worked with Elton John, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi and other major acts. 

Nicola Carson steps in as VP Artist Management, based in L.A. Formerly at Modest! Management, where she worked with One Direction, Leona Lewis and other acts. Rachel Wood (who's been at Global for four years and was previously at 19 Entertianment) serves as Carson's opposing number in the U.K. 

“These executives are all seasoned pros who can think outside the box and get the job done for our artists which fits the Global profile," said Phillips. "I have always maintained that a great company is only as great as the people in it and Monti, Paul, Bob, Ben, Nicola, and Rachel are an example of the commitment that Global is making to our industry.  There are other significant executive announcements coming now that Global Entertainment is running on all cylinders.”
