CMG's Rashid Announces Promotion of Winston and Green

Capitol Music Group's SVP Azim Rashid has elevated two key people in the Urban promo department. Cheryl Winston, based in Dallas, has been named Senior National Director, and Chris Green, based in New York, has been named National Director, both effective immediately.

“Cheryl and Chris are consummate professionals who always give 100 percent on behalf of our artists and their incredible music," said Azim, who continued the praise for his department saying, “In addition to announcing Cheryl and Chris’s respective promotions, I would also like to commend our 2014 Urban Promotion Representative of the Year Jason Griffiths, who is our Midwest/Ohio Valley Regional Director based in Chicago.

The company’s Azim-led Urban Promotion department is enjoying an extremely successful period at the revitalized CMG, currently holding the #1 slot of Urban AC with three records inside the Top 10: Kem’s “Nobody,” which is spending it’s fourth week at #1, as well as two songs from Sam Smith, “Stay With Me” which held the #1 slot at Urban AC for 11 consecutive weeks and "I'm Not The Only One"." Coming in 2015 are new music from Ne-Yo, Johnny Gill, The Dream, and Tyrese.
