MJ defended on cable show

SET YOUR TIVOS…OR NOT: Here’s a first—we’re pointing you to a show on cable channel ID, which is short for Investigation Discovery (do we have that?). It’s Aphrodite Jones’ so-called "investigative report" on the late Michael Jackson, which N.Y. Daily News columnist David Hinckley says “turns out to be the admiring, near-reverential portrait Jackson once hoped to get from Martin Bashir. Jones, who covered Jackson's 2005 child-molestation trial for Fox News, says Thursday that she initially believed Jackson was guilty. But she had a change of heart, banging out the quickie book Michael Jackson Conspiracy right after his death and claiming tonight on the latest episode of True Crime that false accusations from Bashir, the prosecution and the media brought on the insomnia that led to his fatal overdose. M.J.’s manager Frank DiLeo and trial lawyer Tom Mesereau are interviewed during the hour-long show. (4/29a)
