Facebook, Twitter up, MySpace down (duh)

CRAZY FOR THE KOOL-AID: The total time spent on social networking sites by users worldwide grew more than 100% during the past year, as Facebook and Twitter gobbled up unique users like Pac Man, according to a report from Nielsen. Traffic to Facebook was up 69% year-over-year through March, while Twitter traffic jumped by 45% on the site itself during the period. Concurrent declines were posted by LinkedIn and MySpace—the latter of which suffered a nearly 25% drop in unique users. The average time per person spent on social networks is now above six hours per month...and that strikes us as pretty low in term of our circle of friends. (5/7a)
