SMiLE Sessions coming 11/1

AT LONG LAST, SMiLE: In other iconic Capitol news, the label announced yesterday that the Beach BoysSmile—the most famous unfinished album in rock & roll history,” as Rolling Stone put it—will finally see the light of day on Nov. 1, with the blessings of Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine. The Smile Sessions gathers recordings from the 1966-67 sessions in various configurations, including a 40-track, two-CD set, a vinyl two-LP edition and a deluxe box set containing five CDs worth of takes, along with a vinyl double album, two seven-inch singles and a download of the whole enchilada. Wilson, you’ll recall, completed the album with his band and original collaborator Van Dyke Parks for a critically acclaimed 2004 release. (8/31a)
