GAS HEATS UP AT MERCURY: Red-hot indie band The Gaslight Anthem, the N.J.-based garage rockers who elicit comparisions to vintage Bruce Springsteen, have inked with Mercury/IDJ. Congrats to the label’s David Massey and his team for signing the group, which released a pair of albums on L.A.-based indie Side One Dummy, including American Slang, in June 2010. His tenacity won out in a furious competitive with several other labels for the highly coveted group. (10/3a)
