Hank Jr. song puled from MNF

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME REPULSIVE REMARKS? If you had nothing better to do last night than to watch the ugly match-up between the Colts and Bucs on Monday Night Football, you may have wondered what happened to Hank Williams Jr.'s iconic musical intro. Turns out ESPN pulled the song after Hank Jr., in an interview Monday morning on Fox News, said of Obama's round of golf with John Boehner, "It'd be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu." Asked to clarify, Williams said, "They're the enemy," adding that by "they" he meant Obama and Joe Biden. Later, Fox & Friends anchor Gretchen Carlson said to him, "You used the name of one of the most hated people in all of the world to describe, I think, the president." Williams replied, "Well, that is true. But I'm telling you like it is." The remarks prompted ESPN to release the following statement: "While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast." No tellin’ when we’ll hear that dang ol’ tune again. (10/4a)
