LADIES’ CHOICE: Adele leads the field of nominees for the American Music Awards with four nods, while Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne and The Band Perry have three apiece. All of the above divas except Rihanna pick up Artist of the Year noms, as does Lil Wayne. Adele's 21, Gaga's Born This Way and Rihanna's Loud are up for Favorite Pop/Rock Album; Adele, Gaga and Perry will go head-to-head for Favorite Female Artist; and Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Pitbull will vie for Favorite Male Artist. Rap/Hip-Hop Album noms are Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday, Wayne's Tha Carter IV and the Kanye West/Jay-Z collab Watch the Throne. Maroon 5, OneRepublic and LMFAO are nominated for Favorite Band, while The Black Keys, Foo Fighters and Mumford & Sons will compete for Favorite Alternative Artist. Miguel, Wiz Khalifa, The Band Perry, Marsha Ambrosius, Foster the People, Hot Chelle Rae, LMFAO and Thompson Square comprise the crowded field for Best New Artist. The AMAs will air live (on the East Coast, that is) from the Nokia Theatre on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m., with winners determined by online voting. (10/12a)
