X Factor Ratings on Rise

X MARKS ITS SPOT: Fox’s The X Factor was the evening’s top-rated program of the night, with its first live show drawing a total of 11.8 million viewers, and a 4.3 rating in adults 18-49, a 10% boost from last week’s telecast. The two-and-a-half-hour show also saw a 13% rise in total viewership, posting its highest 18-49 rating since the series launched in September. Ratings increased from its first 30 minutes to its last, climbing from a 3.6 to a 4.9. With viewers able to vote on both Verizon and Twitter next week, when the final 12 will compete live, ratings should continue to peak for the music competition show, which so far has failed to achieve producer Simon Cowell’s goal of 20 million viewers.
