Amy's Posthumous Effort

A LIONESS IN WINTER: Look for the posthumous Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures, an album of mostly unreleased tracks, to come out on Dec. 5 (12/6 in the U.S.), with $1.50 from every sale to go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation set up in her name for children’s charities. The album includes a song about her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s cheating during their marriage, and one song allegedly recorded while she was battling heroin addiction. Producers Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson compiled the album, which also includes a Winehouse cover of Leon Russell’s “A Song for You,” a tune also recorded by her favorite artist, Donny Hathaway. The song, on which Winehouse plays guitar, was recorded ina single take at her London home in 2009 as she was in the throes of drug addiction. Her final recording of "Body and Soul" with Tony Bennett will also be included. Her father Mitch insisted the album is up to her high standards. “We’d never have agreed to release it,” he said. “We believe it will stand as a fitting tribute to her musical legacy.” (10/31a)
