R&RHOF inductees

APPETITE FOR INDUCTION: The Sunset Strip and tattoo parlors are well represented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's latest batch of inductees, announced this morning, as both Guns N' Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have made the cut. Also in are the their contemporaries the Beastie Boys and a trio of late comers from the ’60s: Donovan, Laura Nyro and the Small Faces/Faces. Also being honored are Texas blues great Freddie King in the early influence category, producers Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns, engineer Cosimo Matassa (owner of J&M Recording Studio in New Orleans, where Fats Domino and Little Richard recorded) while starmaker Don Kirshner gets the Ahmet Ertegun Award. When asked by RollingStone.com whether all five original members of GNR will show up, original drummer Steven Adler replied, "Absolutely not. But, as far as I know, there is a God and a higher power, and it's possible. Unfortunately, I don't foresee it. You figure that time could heal all wounds, but some people just REALLY hold a crazy grudge.” Turned away this time were The Cure, The Spinners, Donna Summer, Heart, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Eric B. & Rakim, Rufus With Chaka Khan and War.
