VEVO's Most Viewed

KAFKAESQUE VEVO PLUG: Peter Kafka notes in his well-read All Things Digital column that YouTube’s list of the most played videos of the year, which is topped by Rebecca Black’s ubiquitous “Friday,” is not the same as the most-viewed clips of the year, because it doesn’t include those put out by the major record labels on VEVO. Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” featuring Pitbuall, for instance, has racked up more than a quarter billion views (!!). making it the single most viewed of 2011. In fact, as Kafka muses, any video with Pitbull generates interest, including “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer, as well as “Rain Over Me” featuring Marc Anthony, which together have generated 400 million views.
