YOUR HOLIDAY WEAKEND BOX OFFICE: In its second weekend, Paramount’s Brad Bird-directed Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol vaulted from #3 to #1, taking in $26,5 million, a 107.5% increase, as it added 3k screens. The film averaged $7,696 in 3,448 theaters. The latest MI displaced last week’s #1 movie, WB’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which registered $17.8m (3703 screens, $4807 average). Fox’s Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked was third with $13.3m (3734, $3569), followed by Sony’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with $13m in week one (2914, $4461) and Paramount’s debuting The Adventures of Tintin with $9,13m (3087, $2956). Cameron Crowe’s family film We Bought a Zoo (Fox) debuted at #6 with $7.8m (3117, $2502). (12/26a)
