LAUGHING THEIR ASSETS OFF: In his latest Chart Watch column for Yahoo! Music, our bud Paul Grein points out that LMFAO—not Adele, Katy Perry or Rihanna—spent the most weeks at #1 on the Digital Songs chart in 2011. The party-down duo were out front for 11 weeks, compared to 10 for Adele, nine for Perry and six for Rihanna. "Sexy and I Know It" has just logged its fifth week at #1, while "Party Rock Anthem" spent six weeks as the nation's top-selling digital song, Grein notes. This total is the greatest by any act since the Black Eyed Peas locked it up for 20 weeks in 2009. What’s more, LMFAO now has the two best-selling tracks by a duo in digital history, as "Sexy and I Know It," at 3.36m, passes Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" to take the #2 spot behind "Party Rock Anthem," with 5.467. Finally, Grein points out, "Sexy and I Know It" sold 417K copies this week, a total topped by only one song in all of 2011: Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which sold 448K and 509K, respectively, in its first two weeks last February.
