LUM’S LUCK: Elliot Lum is upped to VP at Columbia Records’ Creative Agency by division head Lee Stimmel. Elliot is charged with positioning the label’s artists and releases through integrated product marketing and branding, including TV networks, cable operators and online. Lum has been with Sony Music since joining in 2009 as Sr. Director, Strategic Marketing. Some of his initiatives include alliances in the areas of apparel and fashion (The Ting Tings/Adidas, Passion Pit/Levi’s), beauty (Train/Origins), CPG (Big Time Rush/Airheads), food and beverage (Victorious/ General Mills), hospitality (John Legend/ American Airlines, Raphael Saadiq/ Renaissance Hotels), jewelry (Tony Bennett/Tiffany & Co.), technology (Foster the People/Nintendo) and retail (Train/Kay Jewelers). Prior to joining the label, Elliot worked for the Colgate-Palmolive Co. from 2005, as a Brand Manager for the Speed Stick Franchise and Max Fresh Toothpaste. What, you can't tell that by his smile?
