Once Earns 11 Tony Noms

ONCE AND AGAIN: Once, the hit Broadway musical based on the acclaimed indie film starring Swell Season’s Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, which produced the Oscar-winning 2007 Best Original Song “Falling Slowly” — topped the list of Tony Award candidates with 11 nominations, including Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (Steve Kazee) and Best Actress in a Musical (Cristan Milioti). The much ballyhooed Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, while a box office success, garnered only two minor nods in Scenic and Costume Design. The Awards will be broadcast on CBS June 10. (5/1a)
