Avetts to Universal Republic

AVETTS ON THE MOVE: With Rick Rubin heading over to Universal Republic in an A&R capacity, look for the critically acclaimed Avett Brothers to join him under Monte Lipman’s label umbrella, with a new album due later this summer. The Concord, NC, band memorably performed an acoustic version of “Maggie’s Farm” with Bob Dylan and Mumford & Sons on the 2011 Grammys. The group has been working on the follow-up to their sixth studio album, 2009’s I and Love and You, their most successful release to date, which debuted in the Top 20 on the album charts and is almost gold with virtually no radio airplay.
